Founded by Craig Shapiro, the fund plans to write $1.5 to $3 million checks, aiming to support startups that address critical global challenges. Collaborative Fund, renowned for its visionary investments, has backed industry giants like Scopely and Reddit, Inc., shaping the forefront of innovation and growth. Founded by Eva Lau and her husband Allen Lau, the co-founder of Wattpad, TSFV focuses on early-stage investments. The fund attracted various investors, including institutionals, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. TSFV Fund III has a particular interest in deep tech, including artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and advanced computing applications with notable investments in companies like Ideogram, Blumind, and Story Protocol. The fund has a strong focus on the Canadian market, but it also invests in startups from other regions, particularly those in the US where it often serves as a co-investor alongside leading US VCs. SEC Chair Gary Gensler suggests that the approval of S-1 forms for Ethereum ETFs will take time, following the recent approval of 19b-4 forms. The prolonged finalization phase may delay the ETFs from commencing trading. The SEC has instructed issuers to submit draft S-1 filings, and Gensler's comments indicate a potentially slow approval process. The iterative process, expected to take several weeks or months, will involve the SEC giving feedback and prompting further changes. The arrival of Ethereum ETFs is anticipated to lead to significant capital inflow and decrease the circulating Ethereum supply, potentially driving prices to new all-time highs. The SEC's detailed review process reflects a prudent approach to regulating these financial instruments, while the swift actions of companies like BlackRock demonstrate market demand and readiness for these new investment vehicles.

We have published a new research paper: "On the influence of conventional and automated market makers on market quality in cryptoeconomic systems" by Daniel Kirste, Alexander Poddey, Niclas Kannengießer & Ali Sunyaev, from Bosch, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) & KASTEL Security Research Labs. https://lnkd.in/d7DE4rK7 Abstract Decentralized exchanges (DEXs) have become an alternative to centralized exchanges (CEXs) for trading assets in the form of tokens in cryptoeconomic system markets. The emergence of DEXs is strongly driven by their potential to tackle challenges for market quality originating from CEXs by design, such as opaque market-making strategies and centralization of power. However, it remains unclear to what extent DEXs can enhance market quality compared to CEXs. A core reason for this is the lack of an analysis concept for investigating influences of market makers, including automated market makers (AMMs) used in DEXs and conventional market makers used in CEXs, on market quality in cryptoeconomic systems. To better understand influences of market makers on market quality in cryptoeconomic systems, we developed an analysis concept based on our formal price model grounded in established concepts of market microstructure. We demonstrate the usefulness of the analysis concept by examining conventional market makers on CEXs (i.e., Binance and Coinbase) and automated market makers (AMMs) on DEXs (i.e., Uniswap v2 and Uniswap v3). The main purpose of this work is to support the analysis of influences of different market makers on market quality in cryptoeconomic systems. THIS IS HUGE😮: Stripe Delays IPO; Sequoia Capital Offers Creative Liquidity Solution 💳 Stripe, the payments giant, has postponed its IPO long enough for major investor Sequoia Capital to seek creative liquidity solutions for its limited partners (LPs). 🌿 Sequoia is offering to buy up to $861 million worth of Stripe shares from LPs in funds raised between 2009 and 2011. This unusual move reflects both LPs' desire for liquidity in a sluggish IPO market and Sequoia’s confidence in Stripe’s future. 💰 Despite a significant valuation drop from $95 billion in 2021 to $50 billion last summer, Stripe remains one of the world’s most valuable startups. Sequoia, having invested $517 million in Stripe, values its current position at $9.8 billion.
